Kansas City police promise 911 system fixes in 18 months [Video]

The ongoing issue of long waits for 911 callers in Kansas City, Missouri, is expected to be resolved in the next 18 months.That issue was front and center at Tuesday’s Board of Police Commissioners meeting during a lengthy exchange between Mayor Quinton Lucas and Kansas City police Maj. Greg Williams. Williams promised to fix the system in 18 months and told Lucas that the primary issue with KCPD’s Communications Division is that there simply aren’t enough people to take 911 calls.“Now it’s a time issue.
