KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Someone has some explaining to do to Santa ahead of Christmas.
Elves normally travel to homes leading up to Christmas to keep an eye on the children who live there. They are responsible for reporting naughty and nice behaviors back to Santa at the North Pole.
It turns out an elf named Max had some questionable behavior of his own.
Video shared by Taylor Eskridge on social media shows Sergeant Miller with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office showing up at a family’s Liberty. Mo., home over the weekend.

Eskridge’s young son and daughter answer the door.
Sgt. Miller asks if they have an Elf on a Shelf, and what the elf’s name is. Views learn the elf’s name is Max. They also learn Max is up to some naughty behavior.
