Kamala Harris took to social media to thank former president Jimmy Carter after he fulfilled his goal of voting for her in the 2024 election.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, Harris shared a link to an article from the Atlanta Journal Constitution reporting on Carter casting his vote for her in Georgia as early voting in the state opened.
She wrote, “President Carter, thank you for your support.”
Harris’ running mate Tim Walz shared her post, adding “Thank you for voting early for Kamala Harris, President Carter. It’s an honor to have your support.”
Carter’s son, Chip Carter, previously told the Associated Press that his father’s goal was to vote for Harris, saying: “I asked him two months ago if he was trying to live to be 100, and he said, ‘No, I’m trying to live to vote for Kamala Harris.'”
