Kalen DeBoer talks Alabamas footballs 1st camp scrimmage [Video]

Alabama football held its first scrimmage of preseason camp on Saturday. Kalen DeBoer’s group practiced behind closed doors in Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday morning.

The Crimson Tide began camp July 31 to prepare for DeBoer’s first season as head coach after he replaced the retired Nick Saban in January. The regular season is set to begin on Aug. 31, when Western Kentucky visits Tuscaloosa.

Alabama will return to the field on Sunday. That practice is the Crimson Tide’s Fan Day event at Bryant-Denny, and is open to the public, with autographs available after practice for Yea Alabama members.

After the scrimmage, DeBoer fielded questions from reporters. Here are the highlights from his press conference.

— DeBoer said scrimmage was good chance to get familiar with surroundings in BDS. Said Tide ran about 102 plays during the scrimmage.
