The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A juvenile is in critical life-threatening condition after being shot on Shalimar Drive in Winston-Salem on Saturday night.
According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to the 1000 block of Shalimar Drive around 8:15 p.m. Saturday for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a juvenile “in the backyard beside the church, suffering from a gunshot wound.”
The church mentioned in the press release is Emmanuel Baptist Church at 1075 Shalimar Drive.
Officers began life-saving procedures on the juvenile and he was transported to the hospital in “critical life-threatening condition.”
