Jury found man guilty of second-degree murder for killing owner of Albuquerque massage parlor [Video]

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A jury found Juan Carlos Hernandez, accused in the murder of a massage parlor worker during a robbery in 2022, guilty of second-degree murder.

According to a criminal complaint Hernandez and Jose Rivera-Ramirez went into Wonderful Massage in January 2022 pretending to be a customer and then pulled a gun and demanded money.

The owner, Sihui Fang tried to run, but investigators say the teens dragged her back inside. Fang was able to grab a gun and fire in self-defense, prosecutors said both men returned fire. Rivera-Ramirez was injured and Fang was killed.

The defense argued Hernandez never intended to kill her saying, “If any resistance, if they wanted to kill her ‘pop’ pop, pop’. They’d have done just right there, dropped her, and then went and took the rest of the time ransacking the place for anything valuable.
