Jury convicts man in Holland home invasion and sexual assault [Video]

On Thursday, a jury found Hawkins guilty on charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st degree, Home Invasion 1st degree and Resisting and Obstructing an officer.

HOLLAND, Mich. — On Thursday a jury found Dominique Asher Hawkins guilty on three charges in connection to a home invasion and sexual assault that took place in Holland in April of 2024.

In a court transcription obtained by 13 ON YOUR SIDE after the incident occurred, Laurence Matzen, an officer for the Holland Department of Public Safety, testified as a witness during Hawkins’ preliminary hearing.

Matzen’s testimony detailed the home invasion and sexual assault of the victim on the morning of April 16.

Matzen said that at about 2 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home on West 24th Street after receiving a report from the victim that someone was in her home.
