Judge denies bond for former UA student accused of sexually assaulting another student [Video]

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – A 23-year-old former University of Alabama student charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and multiple counts of first-degree voyeurism appeared in a Tuscaloosa County courtroom Tuesday.

A woman reported to the Sexual Assault Section of the Violent Crimes Unit that she met an acquaintance at a local bar, woke up the next morning with no memory of the night before, and suspected that she had been assaulted.

Investigators were able to obtain photo and video evidence that clearly showed the victim had been sexually assaulted while unconscious, according to a press release.

On Tuesday, Gambill Colvard Gentry attended an Aniah’s Law bond hearing where the judge denied bond, according to a Tuscaloosa County clerk.

Graphic testimony was revealed in court, and the first witness called to the stand was the primary investigator in the case.
