Johnson Count judge orders 15-year sentence in child solicitation case [Video]

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — A Fairland man has received a 15-year sentence after being found guilty of child solicitation, authorities said Monday, Dec. 23.

Matthew McMahon, 39, was convicted after a bench trial in October.

He also entered a guilty plea to a habitual offender enhancement, according to Johnson County Prosecutor Lance Hamner.

In a press release, Hamner said McMahon will serve six years in the Department of Correction as part of the habitual offender enhancement, followed by nine years on the child solicitation charge. Of those nine years, McMahon will serve four years on work release with five years suspended. Two of the suspended years will be served on active probation.

McMahon will be required to register as a sex offender.
