JOEY Chestnut will take on soldiers on an army base in Texas on Independence Day.
The hot dog-guzzling competitive eater will not compete in the event that made him famous in Coney Island over a sponsorship row.
Instead, he is heading to Fort Bliss, El Paso, for a 5-minute eating contest – half the length of Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July event.
Jaws, 40, made his name at Nathans, where he has competed since 2005.
The competitive-eating legend has not lost since 2015 and set the current record of 76 hot dogs in 2021.
But organizers took issue with the fact 16-time champ Chestnut signed a deal with Impossible Foods, which makes plant-based hot dogs.
The Colossus of ‘Kraut is gutted he cannot attend, per the New York Post.
“Those people have been sitting in the sun, waiting,” he added.
