Jewish genealogists to host honey-themed open house at Congregation Mishkan Or [Video]

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Jewish Genealogy Society of Cleveland (JGSC) and Congregation Mishkan Or (CMO) will hold a community open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11.

This is the first JGSC/CMO co-sponsored event since the merger of the two oldest reform temples in Cleveland — Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple and The Temple-Tifereth Israel.

The theme for the Family History and Genealogy Open House is “Our Food, Celebrations and Stories.”

It is open to the public.

The honey-themed program will consist of family-friendly activities, treats and tours.

Learn about bees and honey from Medina County’s Peggy and Chuck Garnes Apiary. Participants can sample honey and collect honey-based recipes.

Peggy Garnes is president of the Medina County Beekeepers Association.
