Jefferson County residents can drop off storm debris from July 8 through July 13.

In west Louisville, an EF-1 tornado toppled over large trees and powerlines near the Parkland neighborhood.

Starting Monday, July 8, Jefferson County residents can drop off any storm debris at Solid Waste Management Services, located at 600 Meriwether Avenue, for free from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Site participation/demand will be monitored daily to determine whether the site should continue to stay open,” officials said on social media. “When the sit is to be closed due to low demand, it will be communicated to our residents through Public Works’ website, social media, and e-newsletter.”

Metro Public Works and LG&E crews were credited on Friday for their quick response to the severe weather.
