VALDOSTA, Ga. — Sen. J.D. Vance, the vice presidential nominee on the 2024 Republican ticket, is scheduled to deliver remarks on border security and immigration in Valdosta on Thursday, according to a campaign release. 

The Aug. 22 event will take place at the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, and Vance is expected to speak at 1 p.m.

This visit is part of the Republican ticket’s broader campaign strategy, led by former president and current presidential nominee Donald Trump. The strategy has placed significant emphasis on border security. 

Vance’s remarks are anticipated to focus on the current state of immigration enforcement and policies, specifically criticizing the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the issue.
