Jay Blades has taken to Instagram for the first time in nearly two months to celebrate his ancestors on Windrush Day. The Repair Shop presenter announced on April 29 that he was taking a break from social media following his uncle’s death and the breakdown of his marriage.

He decided to break his self-inflicted “pause” to “pay homage” to those who came over to the UK on the Windrush, which included members of his own family. He posted three black and white photos of his relations to his 196,000 followers and accompanied the images with a lengthy caption.
