JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) – Athletic Arts Center in Jasper is hosting its “Land of the Sweets Tea Party” Sunday. All proceeds from the event will go to the Sonya Webb Memorial Scholarship Fund.
For the last 14 years, Sonya Webb narrated Athletic Arts Center’s production of The Nutcracker. Webb was a teacher at Athletic Arts Center and was a big supporter of the arts in Walker County. She died in April after a battle with cancer. A scholarship fund was set up in her memory.
This Sunday, the community is invited to attend the Land of the Sweets Tea Party. Guests can enjoy tea and sweets while getting pictures with the cast of The Nutcracker. The event is being held at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper from 1 to 3 p.m.
