Japan Culture Day, also known as Bunka no Hi, is November 3.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Japan Culture Day, also known as Bunka no Hi, is November 3 and this year, the Buffalo History Museum is hosting a celebration.
The museum and Friends of the Japanese Garden are holding the event for the 17th year. It honors the day in 1946 that the present constitution of Japan was officially announced. Now, communities across the world use the day to celebrate their Japanese culture and heritage.
The program begins at 12 p.m. with stories from the Japanese Garden, and continues with dancing and folk songs. There will be activities like calligraphy, bonsai, folk crafts, origami, ikebana, a tea ceremony, and traditional performances.
The event ends at 3:30 p.m. and is free.
