JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — An investigation is underway after a shooting near Monticello Avenue and Greensprings Plantation Drive in James City County, police said.
Just before 3 p.m., police responded to the scene and discovered there were injuries, but the extent is unknown, police said. Monticello Avenue is closed between Centerville Road and Powhatan Secondary and motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
Delays are expected for drivers using the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.
