The Hoosiers cracked the top 10 in college football rankings just days before the College Football Playoff committee releases its first rankings of the season.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — After their historic 9-0 start to the season, the Indiana Hoosiers are now ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press college football poll.
The Associated Press ranked the Hoosiers No. 8 in their most recent poll.
The Nov. 2 AP rankings are the last until the College Football Playoff committee releases its Top 25. With the newly expanded College Football Playoffs set to include 12 teams later this year, Indiana’s top 10 ranking could land them in a spot to compete for a national championship.
According to the Associated Press, if the Playoff rankings were released today, Indiana would be a nine-seed and play eighth-seeded Tennessee for a chance to play top-seeded Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
