THE owner of a consultancy firm has left Ireland amid allegations that thousands of euro has been swindled from clients and Revenue.

Gardai are investigating Beam Consulting chief Viviane Lydon, 39, following a number of complaints alleging at least €66,000 in false client VAT rebates went to her personal bank account.

The Brazilian mum shut down the company and left Ireland for Portugal earlier this month when the claims of VAT theft first began to emerge.

Michelle Reis — who says she is €16,667 out of pocket — told The Irish Sun: “It’s hard to find words to say how stupid I feel.

“I just keep wondering why I didn’t notice. I think that the ­biggest feeling here is sadness. It’s not even anger.”
