‘It’s causing chaos’ – Businesses unable to accept card payments after major service goes down [Video]

A NUMBER of businesses are unable to accept card payments this afternoon due to a technical issue.

AIB has said they are aware of a problem with their Merchant Services today.

A spokesperson said in an update: “AIB is not experiencing technical issues today.

“AIB MS (a joint venture with Fiserv) is aware of a technical issue with some processing services which stems from a wider European issue.

“They are working urgently to resolve the issue and will update they clients as soon as they can.”

A number of people contacted AIB on social media after noticing the outage.

One person said on X: “Can we get an ETA for when this will be fixed?

“Worked for a half an hour this morning and went down again. Losing loads of sales.”
