Loogootee PrideFest organizers have faced a lot of difficult and controversy to get to September 7th, the day of the event itself.

LOOGOOTEE, Ind.(WTHI) – Loogootee PrideFest organizers have faced a lot of difficult and controversy to get to September 7th, the day of the event itself.

To them, it’s been a long awaited day full of inclusion and diversity.

For Tim and Tracy Brown-Salsman, PrideFest finally coming to fruition is meaningful.

As part of the LGBTQ community, they feel it’s a chance to celebrate their uniqueness. Something they want others to see so they don’t feel alone.

Looking to Saturday is a mix of emotions for the couple.

“Excited, a little overwhelmed honestly, it has been a long time coming,” said Tracy.

The Brown-Salsmans felt the city didn’t want them to have the event, but they fought for it to happen.
