Is Metallica’s Social Media Hacked? Fans Concerned [Video]

There is growing suspicion that Metallica’s official X account may have been hacked, leading to the promotion of a Solana token with the ticker METAL. While the band has not officially confirmed this, the account began posting about the new token around 8 PM ET on Tuesday, June 25. These posts described the token as a groundbreaking new way to enhance event experiences and online shopping, claiming a partnership with Ticketmaster.

Additionally, the posts mentioned a collaboration with a firm called MoonPay. However, MoonPay’s president, Keith Grossman, cautioned the public, stating, “MoonPay does NOT support METAL,” as reported by Coin Telegraph.

Fans were quick to question the authenticity of the posts, and their skepticism is understandable. This is not the first time Metallica’s name has been used in a crypto scam.
