Iowa State bowl projections: What bowl game will Cyclones make? [Video]

To qualify for a bowl game, teams need to have at least six wins and an above .500 winning percentage.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Iowa State lost its chance to represent the Big 12 conference in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff after a disappointing 45-19 loss to Arizona State Saturday. 

The Cyclones (10-3, No. 16 CFP) earning a first-ever 10-win season, will now focus on what bowl game they’ll play in.

To qualify for a bowl game, teams need to have at least six wins and an above .500 winning percentage.

The Associated Press reports Iowa State will likely get the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio or the Pot-Tarts Bowl in Orlando.
