Iowa alum hired as Boeing CEO [Video]

IOWA CITY, Iowa — A University of Iowa graduate has been tapped to serve as the next CEO of Boeing.

Robert “Kelly” Ortberg earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1982. According to a press release from the University of Iowa, Ortberg has worked in the aerospace industry for 35 years. He’s previously served as president and CEO of Rockwell Collins (now Collins Aerospace) and was given the University of Iowa Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award in 2018.
