Greensboro officials and family are asking the community for help on a 2020 unsolved homicide case. Mark Freedman, 63, was assaulted, shot and killed outside his restaurant at 616 Dolley Madison Road on election night, Nov. 3, 2020. The Greensboro Police Department says that around 3:25 a.m. on Nov. 4, officers responded in reference to an assault. Officers found Freedman inside his car with a fatal gunshot wound. Later that morning, at 10:40 a.m., police announced his death. In the years following Freedman’s death, anonymous donors have increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect. Investigators say surveillance camera footage led to a description of a suspect as having a stocky, medium build and short to medium height.
