Investigation on drugs in downtown detention center leads to four indictments [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A six-month investigation into the presence of drugs in the Downtown Detention Center jail led to the indictment of four people, Metro Nashville Police announced Monday.

Devin Popejoy, 28, allegedly facilitated the introduction of drugs into the facility by taking them from 30-year-old Emmanuel Webb. Webb is currently awaiting trial on a first-degree murder charge. Additionally, Popejoy is believed to have set up drug-related phone calls between Webb and others during jailhouse calls.

Popejoy was arrested in Vermont as a fugitive from Tennessee on charges of felony meth and fentanyl possession. Popejoy was allowed to post bond and extradition arrangements have been made to return Popejoy to Tennessee.

Two other people were also indicted as a result of this investigation. Anthony Farr Jr., 24, is currently serving a six-year sentence for kidnapping and aggravated assault. Roderick Rogers Jr., 24, is in custody for violating probation on …
