Investigation continues after 5 cars derail [Video]

There have been at least 40 derailments in South Carolina in the past three years, including one in Anderson County that remains under investigation. Aerial footage captured five cars that had derailed near the city of Belton Thursday morning. Greenville and Western Railway officials said three of the cars were loaded with ethanol. Two of those cars toppled over. They also said two cars loaded with wood pulp also derailed in the incident. “They will begin the offloading process of the product that was contained in them . There’s no concern for any spill or leak,” said Cade Treffeisen, the deputy director for Anderson County Emergency Management.
