Internet outage affects Columbia Metropolitan Airport [Video]

United, American, Delta and Allegiant had all been grounded, leaving travelers stranded at airports around the country

COLUMBIA, S.C. — This morning, some of the impact this world wide internet outage was having in the Carolinas.

The problem that began late Thursday evening affected everything from banking to airlines.

Around 6 a.m., News19 heard from Kim Crafton who is in charge of Communications at Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE). She says airlines there are checking in passengers but flights are grounded until further notice.

Just after 11 a.m. Friday, CAE updated that as of 10 a.m., the ground stop of airport traffic had been lifted and flights in Columbia had resumed.

UPDATE: As of 10 a.m., the ground stop has been lifted and flight operations have resumed at CAE.
