The Gadsden Police Department is using a new artificial intelligence tool called Prepared Assist to improve their response times when residents are in need of assistance during emergencies. When residents call or text 911 for help, dispatchers can send them a link, and when they click the link the dispatcher gains access to their cellphone’s video camera. It’s only during that time. Dispatchers and police officers immediately have access to live video in real time. They have the vantage point of seeing what’s going on firsthand at the scene of a crime.
