INDOT crews deploy over 150 plows in southern Indiana | News [Video]

SOUTHERN INDIANA (WTHI) – The Indiana Department of Transportation has been working hard to maintain roads across the state.

We spoke with INDOT Southwest Public Relations Director Gary Brian. He says the southern area has seen a mix of snow and potential freezing rain.

More than 150 plows are working across the region, treating roads with brine. Brine, a mixture of highly concentrated salt and water, is used on road areas that freeze over quicker.

Teams will be out for the duration of the storm, working to make the roads passable.

“This is what we do, to make sure that everybody, whether you’re going to your grandma’s house or going to work or you’re going to the hospital, you know we want to make sure the roads are clear and passible as possible,” Brian said.
