Indiana search and rescue teams host meet and greet at Community Park in New Albany | Local News [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Those who risk their lives in search and rescue missions took some time to meet the community they serve.

Jeff Craig K-9 Search and Rescue and Southern Indiana Search and Rescue work together as one team under Floyd County Emergency Management, called Indiana United Search and Rescue.

Now, all departments can receive information and be notified from one call.

On Saturday, they held a cookout and meet and greet at Sam Peden Community Park in New Albany. People could meet search and rescuers along with their K-9’s.

“It’s going to gives us a lot of resources on initial call outs, and we can cover a lot more area and do a lot more things right out the gate which will speed up the process and resolve the problem much faster,” David Decker, Floyd County EMA K-9 handler, said.
