India’s tour of Sri Lanka: India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed that the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja wasn’t dropped from the ODI squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

Turning down all the speculations in the pre-tour press conference in Mumbai on Monday, Agarkar made clear that Jadeja has been rested for a three-match series in the island nation which commences on August 2.

Following the announcement of India’s ODI and T20I squads for the Sri Lanka tour, a few reports suggested that the senior all-rounder might have played his final match for the Men in Blue in the white-ball formats.

Notably, Jadeja already had announced retirement from the T20Is soon after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 title victory last month.

Agarkar assured fans that Jadeja has been given a break considering a long Test season ahead and he continues to be India’s primary spin-bowling all-rounder.
