Decatur, NE(KTIV) – In May of this year, Decatur, the second oldest town in Nebraska, lost an 148-year-old building, used as a museum to a fire.

On Sunday, Oct.13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Decatur Museum board members put on a ‘Soup-Tackular’ to help raise money to move even closer to their goals.

At the Holy Family Catholic Church, the members displayed a variety of homemade soups and desserts for the community to enjoy at a $10 fee.

Local artists, Sheryl Piere and Marily Tenney offered to create over 100 handmade bowls and cups to sell and use for the soups. Those who came to support the museum had the option to purchase the pottery, with all the funds collected going towards the museum.
