IMPD: 10+ arrested in weekend reckless driving crackdown with ISP [Video]

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD announced Monday that more than 10 people had been arrested and multiple cars were impounded in a weekend reckless driving “crackdown” in partnership with state police.

The department said in a social media post that officers also seized guns and drugs, “underscoring out commitment to keeping our roads and community safe.”

“This partnership and crackdown should send a clear message: Reckless driving and spinning will not be tolerated in our city,” IMPD Chief Chris Bailey said in the statement. “By removing illegal weapons and narcotics from our streets, we’re making Indianapolis safer for all.”

IMPD and ISP officers and detectives found and disrupted “multiple large gatherings” of “spinners” throughout Indianapolis with support from drones, the IMPD SWAT team and ISP helicopter.
