Illinois man arrested as felon with stolen firearm [Video]

A Whiteside County man was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm as a felon.

According to a press release, on July 6 at approximately 10:13 p.m., a Whiteside County deputy conducted a field ID on man in the 400 block of 2nd Ave E. in Lyndon. While the deputy was speaking with Ryan Poulter, 38, of Lyndon, Poulter drew a firearm from his waistband. The deputy restrained Poulter and took him into custody without injury. Investigation showed the handgun carried by Poulter was reported stolen from Saginaw, Michigan. Poulterwas arrested and transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prophetstown Police Department and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police.
