LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A “desert dumping ground,” near Hollywood and Desert Inn, is headed in the right direction after law enforcement upped patrols in the area.
In September, FOX5 showed you the area was littered with mattresses, appliances, lawn chairs and more.
Founder of Southern Nevada Off-Road Trailing, Mathew Brock, says he’s seen improvement since then.
Bureau of Land Management Officials credit the improvement to upping enforcement in the area.
BLM Chief Ranger for the Southern Nevada District Office, Brad Sones, says they’ve done high visibility patrols in the area, working with community and law enforcement partners to make their presence known.
Sones says he’s not surprised to hear the area is improving.
“It’s showing that the work we’re doing is paying off,” he says.
But now, the problem is spilling onto other areas in the valley, including an area about a dozen miles Northeast, off Lake Mead Boulevard and …
