Ekeler said now that Ross has a season under his belt he can be even better and has been showing off in team scrimmages.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football believes one of their greatest assets is on special teams.

Special Teams Coordinator Mike Ekeler raved about punter Jackson Ross on Saturday afternoon.

“Jackson Ross is one of the most amazing punters I have ever been around,” he said in a press conference.

Ross came to play American football after playing football in Australia prior to last season. He tried out for the team over Zoom and they liked what they saw. Ekeler said they built the entire punting game around his skill set and have some other stuff they’re ready to install for this season.
