DETROIT, Mich. (WJRT) – There is on love lost between Flint’s Claressa Shields (14-0, 2 KOs) and Canada’s Vanessa LePage-Joanisse (7-1, 2 KOs). 

“I just don’t like Vanessa,” said Shields. “And I wanted to put my hands on her today.”

The faced-off at Little Caesars Arena for the final press conference before their bout for the WBC heavyweight title. 

Shields also made a stop at the Lions training camp Thursday morning in Allen Park. 

“I just went to the Lions’ practice to bring them some gold medal and world championship energy,” said Shields. “What I took from it is everybody love boxing, everybody the GWOAT, everybody watches the GWOAT and I believe Michigan supports Michigan.”

Shields expects to have some Lions players and staff in the building on Saturday night.
