COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – Meet General Robert Thomas, the new man in charge of Crystal Springs Police.

Thomas has not only served as a police officer in the community, he is also a highly decorated Army General.

He served his tour alongside other brave Mississippians.

He says other parts of the armed forces asked how his platoon was able to accomplish all that they did while serving.

General Robert Thomas said, “My answer to them was just good ole Mississippi ingenuity and that’s how we did it.”

General Thomas led U.S. troops in Iraq for a two-year tour. His platoon helped clean up the atrocities taking place at a U.S.-run prison holding Iraqi prisoners of war.
