I dont get to say I love you again: Wife of killed Portland Uber driver calls for safety measures [Video]

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Two months ago, an Uber driver picked up a passenger in SE Portland, and lost his life shortly afterward.

On the night of June 4, 42-year-old Joshua Kelvin picked up a 17-year-old passenger. As they were driving on SE 130th Pl. and SE Ramona St., a person or persons fired multiple times at their car and killed Kelvin. The young passenger was seriously injured.

Now, Kelvin’s widow, Kelly Kelvin, is calling for changes in safety for rideshare drivers, in hopes of preventing other families from suffering.

On Wednesday she joined a press conference outside the Multnomah County Courthouse, along with Darin Campbell, the chair of the City of Portland’s Private-For-Hire Transportation Advisory Committee to call for more safety protocols for rideshare drivers.
