This couldn’t have come at a worse time.
I’m talking about the advent of consumer-friendly artificial intelligence.
Did it really have to happen at the same time as one of the most contentious elections in history?
We saw an example of that last week when a tiff erupted over a post on Donald Trump’s Truth Social site. In it, Trump questioned the size of a crowd on the tarmac as Vice President Kamala Harris landed at an airport near Detroit.
“Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she ‘A.I.’d’ it, and showed a massive ‘crowd’ of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST!,” the post read.
Actually they did exist. Among them was a Fox News video team that duly reported the size of the crowd, which was indeed quite large.
That didn’t stop the hard-core Trump acolytes from sending this obviously fake story around the internet. Meanwhile The Donald doubled down on Truth Social.
