Vermont State Police found human remains while searching for a missing 82-year-old woman near her home.
In a press release on Sunday, July 21, the Vermont State Police (VSP) announced that they found human remains on Sunday morning while searching for Roberta Martin, who was reported missing by neighbors on Wednesday, July 17.
“The human remains are believed to be those of Ms. Martin,” police said in the release, which adds that the medical examiner will confirm the identity.
The remains were found at 11. a.m. on Sunday, while authorities were searching a wooded area off Sand Hill Road in Enosburg that was close to Martin’s home. The area has been secured.
Per the press release, the investigation into Martin’s disappearance is currently active and ongoing.
