A centre dedicated to education, training, youth provision and socialising for Thanet’s Roma community attracted a huge crowd for its grand opening on Friday (December 20)

Roma Drom Cliftonville Cultural Centre is based on Northdown Road and is the creation of entrepeneur John Karicka.

John, who lives in Margate with wife Renata and his children aged nine and seven, is a passionate advocate of bringing opportunities to the community.

The Nelson College Broadstairs recruitment officer and owner of Boba Tigers sushi and bubble tea venue – next door to Roma Drom- first came to the UK with his family when he was eight.
