How Myles Garrett has gone from being part of someone elses story to a main-character mentor for the Browns [Video]

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Browns superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett is — almost unbelievably — entering year eight of his NFL career.

It’s a fact so unbelievable, that Garrett actually covered his face with both hands when that fact was brought up during his press conference on Friday, following the second practice of Browns training camp at The Greenbrier resort.

But even more unbelievable? The fact that Garrett, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2017 and the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, hasn’t always felt like a main character.

“Early years of my career, it was just so brand new,” Garrett said. “Everything just seemed like I was part of someone else’s story. It just didn’t feel real. The last four or five years I would say it’s kind of settled down.”
