WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) – GivingTuesday is set for Dec. 3, and nonprofit organizations are preparing for the big fundraising day.
One local chamber of commerce spoke about how chambers provide support for community organizations that are participating.
Monroe, West Monroe-West Ouachita and Northeast Louisiana Black Chambers have nonprofit organizations listed in their directories online.
Executive Director Kristopher Kelley of the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce said a way they offer support during GivingTuesday is by uniting their messages and blasting it out in the community.
“So we use every tool at our disposal to increase awareness – number one. Highlight the needs of those local nonprofits and the impact that they have on our community; not just financial impact, but all of those ancillary benefits that they have,” said Kelley. “Show small contributions can lead to really big changes.”
