Legendary Black Stars player, Reverend Osei Kofi, has disclosed how Kumasi Asante Kotoko management member denied a Malaysian team the opportunity to build a stadium for them some time ago.
According to his narration, there was a time when some club officials, including Opoku Nti and Kennedy Agyapong, lobbied to get a Malaysian team that wanted to build a stadium for the team in Kumasi and name it after their brand.
The AFCON winner noted that when the proposal was presented before the then Kotoko management, they decided to reject the idea.
Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, Rev. Osei fumed over how Kotoko handled the issue, citing how English Premier League side Arsenal used a similar approach to get the Emirates Stadium.
