GREEN PARTY SENATOR Roisín Garvey has blamed a lack of pedestrian infrastructure and public transport options for rising obesity rates among children.
She told Newstalk it is “insane insane that we still have kids being driven to school from across the road”.
“We need to take it seriously. A quarter of our nine year olds are overweight. That’s because they have to be driven everywhere.”
She said the solutions include more pedestrian crossings and wider foot paths.
So, today we want to know: How did you usually get to school as a kid?
