Iris is home safe weeks after going missing and the dog is going to be grounded for quite a while, her owner says.
TEMPE, Ariz. — For Jacob Robbins and his wife, Guadalupe Mabry-Torres, Thanksgiving ended with an empty collar and a missing dog.
Her name’s Iris; she’s a nervous-looking Chihuahua mix with black fur and mismatched eyes. And if you’ve been on any of the East Valley Reddit communities recently, you probably know exactly what she looks like.
Unwilling to let his worst nightmare come true Jacob launched an online campaign that swept from Phoenix to Mesa with one goal in mind — get Iris home. On Monday, the couple was thrilled to announce that an army of strangers had come together to do what seemed impossible.
“Iris is really important to both of us, because she’s just given us so much strength and love and care,” Jacob said.
