HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County Schools kicked off its second Career Readiness Showcase on Wednesday in partnership with Partnership Grand Strand, aiming to highlight programs and certifications that prepare students for the local workforce.
The event was held at the Academy for Technology and Academics in Conway, where students demonstrated the skills they’ve gained through Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The showcase featured a wide range of programs, including automotive, healthcare, and culinary arts.
“It’s not just about developing great talent, but also letting students know there are opportunities within our community,” said BJ Beaver, business development and retention manager for Partnership Grand Strand.
Over the next five months, more than 20 business and industry leaders will visit CTE programs at each of the district’s high schools. These programs offer students opportunities to earn industry certifications, secure internships, and explore career paths in a variety of fields.
