A tourist has infuriated locals in Barcelona by thanking them for their ‘very warm welcome’ – while posing next to ‘tourists go home’ signs.

The young woman took pictures of herself standing by the graffiti which has been scrawled across the Spanish city this week. 

It comes amid continued anti-tourism protests in Barcelona this summer with holidaymakers even sprayed with water guns by angry locals. 

The woman, who has not shared her name, joked in a video on social media: ‘Thanks Barcelona for very warm welcoming.’

The post went viral, garnering over 400,000 likes – but locals weren’t happy, as has been reported by Luxury Travel Daily.
